To get started you’ll need a SugarSync account. Visit the Getting Started tab within your account and then click the Bonus Task! button at the bottom. Note: Manually typing in emails to invite from the #6 link won’t count towards the 20 invites to get 2GB free storage. You have to connect SugarSync to your email account using the Bonus Task page in order to receive credit.

SugarSync will offer you the option to connect to your Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or Aol Mail account to refer friends. I don’t really like this idea. So I created an secondary email account and added 20 contacts to it who I didn’t think would mind an invite. This way SugarSync isn’t hooked up to my primary email, and if said friends get mad about the invites they won’t add my main email to their spam list.

As far as gaining space, here’s how it works:

Send invites to 20 total contacts and get 2GB of free space. You get this space even if nobody signs up.Each friend who signs up = 500MB free space to your account, for a maximum of 10GB.

When added together that makes the maximum 12GB.
