Remember the HTC J Butterfly I covered a few weeks ago? At the time we were hoping that HTC would use the display in smartphones that would be available somewhere else than just Japan. HTC has done just that, in the form of the Droid DNA that’s already available at Verizon. It has a quad-core CPU – 1.5 GHz Snapdragon, 2 GB RAM and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. What makes this phone stand out is the Full HD 5 inch screen – 440 ppi (compare that to the iPhone 5’s Retina display only has 326 ppi). The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2. What’s even more impressive is that both cameras – front and back – can record 1080p HD video. The difference is that the back one is 8 megapixel (f/2.0 aperture lens) and the front camera is 2.1 megapixel. Internal storage is 16 GB, and features 4G LTE for high data speeds, as well as NFC. And it’s only 0.38 inches thick, while still managing to include a 2020 mAh battery. It’s already available for pre-order and will start shipping November 19th. The price is $199.99 with a two year contract –- full retail with no contract is $599.99. Comment Name * Email *
